First, 2 years ago my husband broke his heel and Dr Degroot had to rebuild it. He still has some pain but we think it is the screws which we were warned about. He may need them removed at some point. While we were there, I inquired about whether Dr Degroot worked on knees as well. I have had swelling and problems since I was in my early 20's. I am now in my 50's. 4 orthopedic doctors and 3 surgeries later with none of the doctors resolving my issue. Dr Degroot within minutes identified possible issues that he later narrowed down to diffused PVNS. Surgery ensued and now 2 years later, no swelling and I feel inside that my PVNS is gone. I waited 2 years to respond as I wanted to accurately represent the results. If not for Dr Degroot, I would still be suffering with major swelling in my knee and ongoing problems. Some day, due to constant fitness in my early years, I may need a knee replacement. For now, I am enjoying of physical sctivity again. Thanks is not enough!

I had foot surgery on Nov 15,2011 and found Dr.de Groot to be very professional,empathetic and responsive in both my pre op appointments as well as post surgery. I have had many medical complications n the past and he took them all very seriously and brought me through my concerns and all was well as he promised. His office is clean ,staff excellent and he respects the patient's time .Though I still have some healing to do post surgery,I feel that he will put me on the right path.

on-time in office, which is run very efficiently. Like the fact he does xrays in the office and has state of the art equipment to read it

I drive over a 1.5 to see Dr. Degroot. I have an extremely rare bone disease and my local doctors did not know much about it. I was relived when I found Dr. Degroot and was so impressed with his knowledge of the disease. He let us ask as many questions as we wanted. He performed a very invasive surgery a few years ago where I was in the hospital 10 days. Not only was the surgery a success, I got my mobility back. He is thorough, knowledgeable and I would HIGHLY recommend him. |

I had surgery on my upper arm for the removal of a benign tumor. Dr. Degroot and the staff of the OR at the newton/wellesley hospital were excellent. I was home that night with very minimal pain and recovery/healing process has been comfortable and speedy.

The office staff is amazing. I was having trouble with my insurance approving an MRI and they did all the work and got it authorized. Very helpful!!! Dr. Degroot is very knowledgeable and helps me understand what is going on and what needs to be done. He makes things happen quickly. He is always on time and makes you feel important. He never rushes you through.

Dr. DeGroot did a thorough exam of my hip, had an w-ray done to take a better look to make sure there was no other cause for the opain than bursitis. He explained everything in layman's trems. He gave me a cortizone shot, and pt exercises to perfrom to keep pain at bay. I am 100% satisfied wiht teh entire experience.I would highly recommend Dr DeGroot.

Knowledgeable and kind - the two things I value most in a doctor, and Dr. DeGroot is both. He is, moreover, speedy, and a born teacher. He assessed and told me what I needed to do for the metatarsal fracture that brought me to him, but also assessed my arches, bone spurs, and a congenital peculiarity of my toes. I learned things I never knew about my feet, and with his recommendations, I expect I will have much less trouble going forward. Very helpful!

I strongly recommend Dr. Henry DeGroot, he is a very knowledgeable and caring orthopedic surgeon. I fell down the stairs, dislocated my ankle and broke my fibula while 6 months pregnant and needed surgery immediately. I was very scared about having surgery while being pregnant but Dr. DeGroot made me feel at ease. He described to me what had happened, what he was going to do surgically to fix it, what the recovery time would be and reassured me that all measures would be met to keep it safe for my baby. I felt very confident with having him as my surgeon, he answered the many questions that I always had in terms that I understood. A year later my ankle is as good as new, it's actually stronger then it was before I broke it. I have hardly any pain and my mobility is great.

My husband sustained a devastating ankle fracture at work several years ago. After unsuccessful surgical repair and complications (in New Hampshire), he was referred to Dr. Degroot for evaluation and treatment. Dr. DeGroot worked with my husband and was able to revise the initial repair allowing for better healing and comfort. We have been to the office many times over the past several years. Everyone is always friendly, compassionate and efficient. Dr. DeGroot has improved my husband's ability to ambulate with less discomfort. In the end, my husband had an ankle fusion but has recovered from that procedure now and is trying to get his life back to normal. We are convinced that Dr. DeGroot was responsible for this positive outcome.

Several specialists referred me to Dr. DeGroot because my injury was complicated and needed someone very good in repairing Lisfranc fracture / dislocations. Other specialists said Dr. DeGroot was one of three surgeons good enough in the greater Boston area to successfully treat my injury. A high recommendation considering how many teaching hospitals are in the region. He fixed both the foot and ankle injury and oversaw all aspects of my recovery. Dr. DeGroot's assessment of the injury was immediate. His communication and bedside manner was informative,,, engaging, and tailored to what I needed to know. Dr. DeGroot was exactly correct predicting the stages of recovery. He explained what I could expect at each stage of my surgery and recovery. He was always right and his accuracy was helpful for me to minimize disruption of my life. He was really attentive to every detail. We discussed my options and what would work best for me. Dr. DeGroot even recommended special mobility helpers.

I have been treated by Dr. DeGroot and his staff for over a year and have been continually impressed with their competence and professionalism. After suffering total debilitation of my ankle and chronic pain for years (which many doctors refused to treat or couldn't treat), Dr. DeGroot offered me sound advice, pain treatment and then performed a STAR total ankle replacement. He is one of few doctors who can perform this state of the art surgery. Dr. DeGroot and his staff provided excellent before and after surgery care. This has given me a new lease on life since my mobility has been restored, I am pain free, and I will be forever grateful. My physiotherapists are also impressed with the surgery and its results. I consider Dr. DeGroot to be a brilliant orthopedic surgeon. |
